Summer NYPA Internship Program Putting Training into Action

As part of the next phase of the Summer NYPA Internship Program, Proctor interns had the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world settings by conducting energy audits at local businesses. The groups visited Cornerstone Building Brands, Kris-Tech Wire, and The Fountainhead Group to assess current energy usage and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.

These site visits allowed students to utilize the skills and tools developed during their training, including data collection, analyzing energy consumption patterns, and recommending practical energy-saving measures. The hands-on experience not only reinforced classroom learning but also highlighted the critical role energy efficiency plays in local industries.

This phase of the program empowered students to make meaningful contributions to the businesses they visited while gaining valuable insights into how energy solutions are implemented in the field.
