Utica Gem Giordano Giruzzi Shines Bright at Jones Elementary

This month’s Utica Gem is sixth-grader Giordano Giruzzi from Jones Elementary School! He is also the school’s 2026 Optimist of the Year Award recipient.

Giordano shows up every day with a smile and a positive attitude that sets the tone for everyone around him. Principal Guerrero says he’s the kind of student who lifts others up without even trying. Whether he’s helping his classmates in the classroom or performing on his saxophone at assemblies, he brings good energy and joy to everything he does.

His teachers describe him as reliable and trustworthy, saying they can always count on him to lead with kindness and encouragement. Congratulations, Giordano! You make Jones a better place just by being yourself. We are so proud to celebrate you as this month’s Utica Gem!
