Albany Ethos
Our school community is built on three shared values: Grit, Compassion and Citizenship. Together, these values shape how we learn, how we treat one another and how we contribute to the wider world.
Grit
We persevere when things are difficult. We embrace challenges, learn from setbacks and keep going when success does not come immediately or easily. We believe that resilience grows when we step outside our comfort zones and refuse to give up. We understand that achievement comes through effort, discipline, focus and a willingness to improve.
Compassion
We treat every person with kindness, dignity and respect. We listen, include and support one another. We recognize that everyone faces challenges, and we strive to create a school where every individual feels valued, safe and able to flourish.
Citizenship
We understand that we are part of something bigger than ourselves. We take responsibility for our actions, contribute positively to our school and community, and respect the world around us. We seek to make a difference through service, leadership, integrity and responsible choices.
Our Commitment
As a school, we will take pride in doing our best, persevere through challenges, care deeply for others and contribute positively to our community. We set high expectations for ourselves and others, and we celebrate progress as well as success.
We want every student to leave our school not only with knowledge and skills, but with the character, resilience and compassion to make a positive difference in the world.
We strive. We persevere. We care. We contribute.
