Ardayda Fasalka Lixaad ee MLK Waxay Caawinayaan Fasalada Xanaanada

At MLK Elementary, students of all ages work together to learn, grow, and support one another.

Recently, sixth-grade students partnered with kindergarten classrooms for a hands-on math “craftivity” that combined creativity with problem-solving. Using cubes and ten frames, students solved addition and subtraction problems printed on raindrops.

After working through the math, they brought the project to life by coloring and assembling pieces to create a dachshund in a raincoat and hat—just in time to brighten the halls for April.

The collaboration between students not only strengthened academic skills but also fostered mentorship and connection. As the walls filled with rainy-day artwork, it was a joyful reminder that April showers really do bring May flowers.
